Due to the OP left this behind, so…
Twilight levitated yet another box into the mountain of boxes she had already packed. Today was her final day living in the castle. She, Spike, and all of her friends would leave tomorrow for Twilight’s coronation. She sighed, reminiscing about her past few years living in Ponyville.
“So, what are you gonna do with the castle now that you’re leaving for Canterlot?” Starlight’s voice interrupted her thoughts.
The princess turned to her friend with a smile. “Actually, I was thinking that I would like a friend to look after it. I don’t think it’d be very wise of me to let the castle stay empty. So… I want you to have it. I think you’ll take great care of this place.”
“Me?” The unicorn pressed a hoof to her chest. “I’m not a princess, Twilight. Why should I be the one to get this big, fancy castle?”
Twilight trotted closer to her friend, resting a comforting hoof on her shoulder. “You’ve earned it. You’ve come so far since I first met you, Starlight. I want you to be the one to have it, not anypony else. You already live here, after all. I think you probably know the place best. It just makes the most sense.”
Starlight threw her hooves around the alicorn in a tight hug. “I.. don’t feel like I really deserve this… but.. thank you so much, Twilight. For everything you’ve done for me. You’re the best friend I could have ever asked for.”
