It’s seen as funny because of how bad it is. People don’t like how the memes themselves are bad… they find it funny because somebody took the time to make such a bad joke.

okay, fuck it. genuine, unironic question that’s bugged me for years now.  
just what is it with twitter users and trashy memes? for the life of me, i just don’t understand what makes this so appealing to others. the ironic use of u and ur, the constant sex jokes, the open mocking of a controversial fandom, the low quality of the images, the whole concept of cringe/ironic culture. none of this is funny to me. irony and shock humor have been done to death these days. but, i still want to understand why this is funny to some.
