On the shelf, right next to “The Short, Thick Black Book,” one of the books is “A Modest Proposal,” which, in this AU, has aan author named “Jam Swift.”
 
The real “A Modest Proposal” was a satirical essay written by Jonathan Swift, in which he suggests, as a solution to the poverty of the Irish, that they sell their infant children to be eaten by the rich.
 
What cdcdrr is saying is that, if it weren’t for the fact that A Modest Proposal is satirical in nature, then given that she keeps it in her shelf, she may actually “gobble” ponies.

I’m guess that Ass Effect and Call of the Mild or intended for pleasurable reading.

The Short, Thick, Black Book wasn’t quite what it promised. It wasn’t a quick read at all.
