I sense an impending finale. 100 at the latest, 88 at the earliest, but if the latter and they go out epic, we already know what our final filler issue is…
Yeah, that is apparently what IDW is doing. Carrying FiM on in comic form. My only issue is having to pay for them, but heck. I’m just glad the ride ain’t over lol.

Another thing to keep in mind is the final episode itself. Despite the leaks that show potential G5 designs of the Mane 6 we still have no affirmation that these are what they are going with. For all we know the final episode itself could possibly be a transitioning to G5 which could mean we’ll still be in Equestria just with whole new main characters. But, again this is just speculation on my part.
if we recap the G4 ends with a lot of history to develop.
the rest of the world has seen (we only saw 1 continent)
other peoples to meet (I do not make the list it is long about twenty minimum)
the story of several characters that remains has developed (what does zecora to poneyvile for the most important)
legends not disclosed or explained (terramar had started explaining a legend and cut)
heroes have been mentioned (is nothing we don’t know any more)
@Vivace
I thought showing africans on TV was legal now a days?
Or are we not allowed to have tribal species unless, like the Yaks, they are based on whiter tribes?
@Astral Phoenix
Yeah I was thinking that too. The 2017 leak did mention there were gonna be THREE FIM specials, and we only got two. Dunno if it’s cancelled or not, but all we know is that the main series ended and DHX isn’t working on it anymore. However, when Rainbow Roadtrip was released, Jim only knew it existed and it was made by Boulder Media, but nothing else.
So who knows? Maybe G4 isn’t over yet! Maybe all this time Hasbro just wanted to change production companies cause Boulder Media is THEIR personal animation company, which means it’s cheaper than DHX. And G4 MLP is Hasbro’s biggest money-maker right now, so even if G5 were to be made, would they let go of G4 just like that? Maybe, maybe not.
True, although even the show’s ending there’s still a probability that we may get specials similar to “Rainbow Roadtrip” and could possibly tie-in in the timeframe before or after Twilight’s coronation. Or, perhaps if EqG is continuing perhaps they might focus on the ponies side as well. After all in “Spring Breakdown” it looks to be set sometime in the Season 8 premiere before the school was built.
