i am glad and screw those 3 they will never learn about the true meaning of friendship or get to try to be reform to change the errors of their ways and will never learn to build relationship each other. they made their own decision with bad choices big mistake and they never accept it how wrong they mess up, and fail and never known. they make excuses pointing its your fault, and not mine, and never admit it and never think right, or use common sense. they never will forgive no one. in their heart they never realize it poor decisions will get you no where. so yeah being turned to stone was a big mistake for them and they never will apologize for whatever they done.

You’re all over these pictures trying to put words into people’s mouths and jumping to the most insane conclusions just so you can stay mad at the show. It’s kinda pathetic. Show me where I said or even implied that or go away without making such a fool of yourself continuously.

Crazy headcanon, but what if she’s from a mirror universe where ponies are facist treacherous xenophobes and non-ponies band together in an alliance? It would be nice if Reflections was (further) rendered non-canon by reinterpreting their mirrorverse.

It’s a bad twist because it subverts expectations for the sake of cheap surprise rather than story consistency. Not to mention it completely destroys Discord’s character.

okay, but i still think she is an evil pegasus with dwarfism, turned into a filly

Honestly, some of the plots in the show got silly enough that none of that fishy stuff raised any red flags for me :I I think if I cared enough to do so, and likely you yourself too, we could find dumb stuff in most of the big important plotlines. I can honestly say I did not expect Grogar to be Discord, and even when seeing the silhouette change, I first thought it was some weird-ass Jekyll and Hyde situation where Discord has been possessed by, or just an alternate personality of Grogar, and had been turning into him and assuming his own memories and goals and everything. I dunno why my mind immediately went there, but it did.

In retrospect though, there are definitely those interesting moments with Discord relocating. One I noted was in Summer Sun Setback where he has a “well well well, guess you’re getting good enough for WHAT’S COMING WINK WINK” line while observing Twilight, and the next scene is Grogar returning to the lair.

The whole idea of what it “was building up to” is purely in your head (and other people’s if they had the same speculation). The writers don’t just decide last minute what’s gonna happen in the finale, Grogar was always meant to not be real in this whole season - we just didn’t know. And just because you don’t like it doesn’t make it bad writing, lol.
Also, the others didn’t lose any “nuance” or personality because they were not redeemed. Reformation is not the only way to go with a good villain. The princesses had every right to turn them to stone, too - to suggest they “shouldn’t under any circumstances think that is reasonable” is pretty laughable. They turned villains to stone before, they imprisoned them in Tartarus (which is only marginally better), all for much less. Why should the princesses have, after all the events of the finale, decided the villains were up for reforming? That’s ridiculous.
And no, the finale was pretty good.

Yeah, if you think about it, Grogar had a fishy story if you were taking it at face value. Let’s see… he was banished for thousands of years, but he didn’t try to depose Celestia when she was ruling by herself, say, 700-900 years after Luna/Nightmare Moon being banished, when you’d think he’d be more than powerful enough to fight her at half his power displayed in the premiere, he seemingly gave up on retrieving the bell after those three failed, he’d leave his lair for seemingly no good reason on numerous occasions (remember, he has this crystal ball that seemingly allows him to spy on others, but he’d left the area), his lair was on an Equestrian map… and of course, taking you literally thousands of years to locate your bell.

Now, if you thought none of that was fishy, okay then, but to me, I think they absolutely had this in mind since the premiere too, because think about it: the only others “Grogar” was ever shown being remotely cruel with were the other villains, and if you rewatch the premiere, you’ll notice that Grogar appeared after Discord teleported away in a scene with these parting words:

Discord: What? This is all so predictable. Now’s the part where you all tell little Sparkle here that everything is going to be fine, but she won’t believe you. Ugh. I don’t need to be here for this.

Does none of that seem like a red flag in hindsight?

This is a hopeful ending for them in a way.

Sombra got killed, these three just got petrified - like Discord did. Discord eventually got freed and reformed; So there’s still hope for these three to change.

@Background Pony #D6CB
I’m fine with all 3 turning to stone.
But I’m also annoyed that there was never any attempt to explain
why Cozy Glow was 100x more evil than any other filly in the entire show.
Background Pony #636F
@Supes
Grogar was being built as a ruthless evil who the others would need to turn on to save Equestria, and, thus, redeem themselves because they’d acquire the adoration of the masses (friendship). The entire point was to cap things off with peace but the twist worsens everything because it comes completely out of nowhere and makes no logical sense whatsoever, it’s literally lolsorandom bad writing.

And yknow, Sombra is the worst villain in MLP entirely because he was a one note evil cause evil moron. Why is taking the nuance out of the other villains somehow a good thing? They weren’t even given an oportunity for reform in the finale, just boom, turned to stone by characters who shouldn’t under any circumstances think that is reasonable or appropriate. The finale was frankly just bad.

@Background Pony #D6CB
That’s not really a central tenant. They always had villains that were just villains - like Sombra and, well, Chrysalis and Tirek. Before that one tease in “Frenemies” the latter two showed absolutely no signs of being redeemable.

Also, the twist was great, because Grogar was turning out extremely boring as a villain. :P

The entire central tenant of the show was that everyone can be redeemed, but since they stupidly did the “Discord was Grogar!!1” twist, they wrote themselves into a corner.

Celestia, Luna and Discord stoned them with the smiles on their faces and without a flicker of remorse. Fuck them.
