Well, if it shuts up the Starlight haters a bit, I can live with it. Plus, the episode seemed to be more about the Mane 6 escaping Tartarus, and the School Six’s mission, as well. If Starlight was with the Manes or Students, I fear some would’ve accused her of “stealing the show” again. I guess sometimes they need to be able to do things without extra help.
 
You don’t remember the episode? She did in a way help them regardless of being captured. So she did at least play a small role.

I would be fine with her not being involved if the story was far-removed from her, as in, it was about characters somewhere else, like maybe the Mane 6 get sent somewhere, but what bothers me is she’s literally captured and is forced to miss out on what every other character gets to help with. And it just makes her look bad. I mean, Shining Armor at least got to help drive the changelings out of Canterlot at the end.
 
How did she come in handy for the Student 6? She just teleported them outside after Cozy was foiled, and other characters showed up to apprehend her anyway, so it wasn’t important that she did that.

Considering Starlight was involved in practically every Season finale before then, (after her debut) I don’t mind taking one break from her, and having her captured to prove to her haters that she’s not an “invincible Mary-Sue that always solves the problem,” like they claim.
 
And granted, she did come in handy for the Student Six, so she did play a small role.

It’s mostly because Starlight completely missed out on the whole adventure. Literally everyone gets to do something but her. That actually infuriates me about it. How badly it treats her.

I guess considering how nice she was to her, it does kinda make what Cozy does to her in the finale seem even more cruel.

I really wish Starlight Glimmer could’ve gotten revenge on Cozy Glow.

Cozy : “You’ll be the first to die! Teehee!”
