I probably overdid it a bit with setting the mood too dark. Or not?

Um alright, I hadn’t seen the rubble underneath the slope of Canterlot before. This of course makes the “under construction” rather than “broken down” interpretation of mine less valid.
In any case I don’t necessarily see only an end but possibly also a beginning in this… which come to think of this is also my sentiment about generation 4’s conclusion and the prospect of generation 5 in a nutshell.
However that may be, this painting is really beautifully done.
