S Tier - God tier, perfection in everyway
- Flim and Flam: ???, do I need to explain??? Ok yeah, I probably do. I honestly just love these two, I and I can’t really explain why. Their colors? Perfection. Voices? Perfection. Their songs??? Fuckin’ great. Episodes? I loved them all. I love the fact that they’re kind of reformed but still scammy con-ponies. It’s great. Seriously don’t even try me, they are S tier worthy.
- Chrysalis: I don’t need to explain. Her song is honestly enough to get S tier. I love her design. Her best was of course in Season 2, but she’s still great in later seasons.
A Tier - So close to perfection - Diamond Tiara: I love her, she was the best bitch and her redemption made it even better. She was a bit too cruel to the crusaders at times making fun of Scootaloos wings, but still great overall
- Discord: It’s Discord. Honestly the only reason he is not S tier is really petty on my part. The endless FlutterCord shipping (which is a ship I hate) has left a bittertaste with both characters. I still like them both, love Discord, but yeah.
B Tier - Good - Nightmare Moon: A really good villain to kick off the series all the way back in season one. A nice design and good backstory. Very solid all around.
- Cozy Glow: Not often is a cute villain design plus points, but for her it certainly is. Her motives are kind of weak, but her entire plan and the fact is spanned out so many episodes to set up made the season interesting to go back and watch. Also I love her voice.
- Starlight Glimmer: Her village was so… weirdly eerie? It wasn’t outright scary, but the blatant brainwashing was certainly cool to see in a kids show. Also, I love a redemption arc.
C Tier - Ok, but could have been much better - Tirek: ehh, his design was cool, and he was a valid threat. But he was sooo much better as a weak, manipulative bitch instead of a massive brute. Not bad, but more manipulation would have been very cool to see.
- Gilda: Not really a villain, just a bitch. But redemptions are cool, and her’s was decent.
- Sunset: Ok, I haven’t actually seen the movies. I just like seeing the fanart of her and her design is cool. I know her plan in the movies, and it sounds dumb.
D Tier - You tried… - Sombra: I like his voice. His design is very meh. His voice tho… I almost but it in C tier just for it.
- Daybreaker: Cool design, but name is dumb as hell. And she technically never existed (yet).
E Tier - Wtf, you failed
F Tier - You actually made something so awful I’m just- - Tantabus: …………. fuck. FIRST OF ALL, the WHOOLE thing about Luna’s self-harm in the form of nightmares could have been an amazing and impactful episode. BUT this plot would have only worked if they made it so that Luna wasn’t cured in the same episode it was fucking INTRODUCED IN. Shit like this can take weeks, months, maybe YEARS to fix. Not one FUCKING “”“FRIENDSHIP SPEECH””” CAN FIX THAT SHIT. Ugh. The Tantabus in it of itself is a cool idea, and could have been a highlight of the SEIRES, not season, the FUCKING SEIRES. A young child’s T.V shouldn’t touch this topic unless they know what the hell they’re doing. I’m fucking done. Also the design isn’t even interesting, big night blob oooo I’m scared. They should have planted this idea near the beginning of the season, and had it a thing that maybe only the audience saw. Then have it come to a head near the middle with the whole thing about it starting to harm others. Have them save the day, but instead of Luna “Omg I’m all better now lol” Find a way to show Luna using other ways to overcome this thing. IDK fucking how, but this episode was terrible because of it’s message alone. It should have NEVER been made.

And, Nightmare Moon is the villain who have a very personal reason to be evil, she don’t want to take the world (at least isn’t the first thing to do) she just want to be superior to Princess Celestia, that motivation would make her the most complex villain in the series… but she have the bad luck to be the first villain of the first 2 episodes, making impossible justice in the character.
If you change the first apparition of Nightmare Moon and Sombra, that actually helps to NM, Sombra is so flat in personality that actually works like the first villain of the series meanwhile Nightmare Moon for be the villain of the season 3, she would show her pain for be the shadow of Celestia for more time, without be worried about the Mane 6 because we know how are they in personality.
And really would be cool that instead of Sombra, the Crystal empire was Luna’s attempt to show that she can rule better than her sister, but failed, taking it to the destination we see at the start of season 3.

Anyway, moving on, Flim and Flam not really “kind of reformed,” like at all. If their cameo is implying anything in Between Dark and Dawn, their scummy ways might have ultimately cost them the resort, because the general population have gotten sick of them (wearing disguises in BGE to avoid being recognized).
The Tantabus part devolved into angry ranting too fast for my liking (the worst kind, at that), but that’s just my opinion.
All in all, S9 has made me appreciate Cozy Glow, Tirek, and Chrysalis’ characters more, so far, in any case.
Shifting topic a bit, for the people who are preemptively calling Grogar a weak villain because “hE hAsN’t dOnE aNyThInG tO JuStIfY bEiNg cOnSiDeRed A tHrEaT,” that’s a premature statement until his role in the story is over, isn’t it?

FLuttercord and LyraBon aren’t on the same level as other ships. Their teasing is consistent and [art of the story. Not some “gave flowers for apology but shippers interpret it as romance” nonsense. caressing of the face happened only between Discord and Fluttershy in S9 and between Lyra and Bon Bon in episode 100. Its pretty much a non confirmed quazi-canon ship and even Spike teased it in canon.
I know, right? Not to mention, unlike SugarMac, FlutterCord isn’t canon. It’s just been ship-teased a little bit. Lots of ships have gotten that treatment in the series (including other ships with Discord like Dislestia and other Fluttershy ships like FlutterDash). And based on talks that some of the staff has said, I don’t think any of the Mane 6 will get canon ships, at least not in Friendship is Magic (Equestria Girls is probably a completely different story).
