I think it’s funny how you assume to know what Americans will and won’t accept because you happen to be wrong.
 
As for them being cousins, until the recent “incorrect” popular myth about cousin marrying produced retarded and inbred children, cousins marrying was a very normal thing. And there’s more than enough genetic difference between cousins that the likelihood of them having a child with genetic defects is barely higher than a couple with no relation whatsoever.

This is clear evidence that Braeburn is bisexual:

I never thought of Braeburn as gay. A little effeminate maybe, but not gay.

I don’t understand too, but I think people wanted to have some character to represent the “other spectrum” and found in Braeburn too cute, so they made him gay :/
