I doesn’t matter if the writers hint or tease us with any shippings, if it doesn’t happen in the show then it’s not canon. Also, the shipping would be more acceptable if people wouldn’t be annoying everyone with it or the staff members or MLP.

So what. McCarthy, Mike Vogel and Andrea Libman support this ship. Thats the main voice actress, executive of Hasbro who used to be the head writer of the show and one of the main writers the show who used to be an executive at Hasbro.

No, it’s not up to you. mlp show is not a love story, this show is a story created by Lauren Faust and she made sure that there was no romance among the main characters and before she left the project, you dont understand it. Hasbro and DHX are the bosses, jim director and the writers do josh haber and nicole dubuc support the friendship between these characters such as Meghan McCarthy, not your ideas or how you want things to be. this is tv kids show and so will with the characters. They change anything

Yes they are, but Jim alone has as much to say as we do. He work for DHX, animation studio that make cartoons. His positon is to be a supervisor director to watch over other directors when translating story board into actual episode with sound and fluid animation. Writers are freelancers hired directly by Hasbro and have nothing to do with DHX. They write episodes that currently Josh Haber and Nicole Dubuc edit for the main story purpose. The main story arc for S9 is approved mostly by Meghan McCarthy, the actual Hasbro executive responisble for creative decision among little girls cartoons. Jim is nowhere near to decide anything. He can only suggest or agree on the outcomes.

They did tease it anyway. Whether Jim saw it as just a throwaway thing doesn’t matter. Writers might have treated it as part of Discords and Fluttershy’s story arc.

Sounds more like they’re trolling shippers moreso than dropping hints. Kinda makes sense when you think about how tired they must be of being bombarded with the opinions of loud and unruly sections of the fanbase for years on end. Drop something in an ep that usually only someone purposefully on the lookout for it would see (ie. A shipper looking for some confirmation) and just laugh while imagining the results.

I don’t understand and it’s really making me feel anxious, because Fluttershy is my waifu and I do not want to change my feelings about her right after the end of Season 9. Even Jim who hates shipping admitted that his show crew made intentional shipping scenes for Fluttercord so its not just in your head. If they end the series without confirming but only teasing them, then people who odn’t ship it, can create a headcanon that they stayed friends and people who ship them can create headcanon that they got married. Its not like we will never know becasue they will never show us any time skip. Maybe comics, Equestria Girls or books will one day confirm it under Hasbros blessing. It doesn’t matter if you personally don’t see it. Many people do see it just like the animators who teased them and you will not change their mind.

That’s not a guarantee. Plus, I’m not gonna jump the gun and read that much into it. Fluttershy is his first and best friend. I’m not going to try and read anything more the staff do unless its ever announced as official and I’m certainly not going to read into anything the staff do as a ‘nod and wink’ to the shippers. None of this is saying this ship or any others is bad or that I’m against it. I just don’t want to fall down the rabbit hole of reading into every action a character does on screen with shipping goggles on. I’ve been around here long enough to know that leads only to fights.

I don’t think It will become as canon as Shining and Cadance. There will be no wedding. But i think the writers and especially storyboard artists know that this ship is that big and had so many teases, they will at least do something to satisfy both shippers and people who want it to be platonic. Like they might add them hugging in the background on Valentine Day or just have their finale show together with tails entangled and blushing. This doesn’t mean they are confirmed but gives shippers enough implication to go on with the idea that they stayed together. Basically how LyraBon is going to end.

I’m not saying ships should be canon just because a certain segment of the fandom may want it. But I’m also not ruling out the possibility it could happen. I’m not advocating for anything here but I’m also not against people having their own personal opinions and preferences. Like you said, its just a tv show. Nothing worth getting mad over.
