Nice theory

Her sanity is slipping.

An interesting theory, but there’s one thing it ignores:  
 
Notice how her eyes are unfocused and facing opposite directions. This has been an indicator through out the series that a character is disconnecting from reality. Such as when Pinkie does it during Party of One, and Twilight in Lesson Zero. So, even if that was the case, she’s still going insane.
 
Plus, notice that she had to use an entire tree to create the Mean Six, whereas the changelings she’s making are simply logs the size of their heads.

I just think it was funny.

I wish she’d be monologueing around a bunch of her eggs, we already know she can lay them. Have her talking about “soon I will have enough love for you to hatch, my minions, and then we’ll finally get my revenge on Twilight and her friends!” But u guess mommas shouldn’t be seen abandoning their bbys.

Aren’t cartoon and movie characters monologuing? It’s just a way of fleshing out their intentions, etc.

Chrysalis still takes it a liiittle further than casually talking through ideas. Enough that a theory like this makes sense.

She lost progress, but it does seem like she’d only just started inscribing the images.

I’d find this unlikely since she has a whole heap of logs and didn’t show any aggravation that her logs didn’t travel with her.
