I don’t understand why some people think that economic inequality is a bad thing, or matters at all. All that matters is how well-off the poor are, not the difference between the poor and the rich. Caring about the difference is only covetousness. America has a high wealth inequality and the poor here are some of the richest people in the world. (I should know, I technically qualify as “low-income”.)

something between 100% capitalism and 100% socialism, with more bias towards socialism than society now, would probably be the optimal thing to aim for. Something that doesn’t aim to completely “even out” economic distribution but certainly lowers economic inequality(h without lowering everyone to the lowest level), while still allowing people to rise up economically(albeit with increased difficulty). Of course I have no idea if such a thing would be easier or just as impossible to implement as Marxism

Communism is an ideal, that people should strive for. Marx, Lenin, Mao wrote about people, who “had nothing to lose, but their chains”. Society has changed now, but capitalism still keeps millions of people in exploitation and even slavery. We are just lucky to be born not in too poor families.
 
All the Marxists want is justice. It’s a pity, that so many people believe, that man is unjust in his nature. Mental growth takes time. And this is what the governments of the socialist countries did not care enough about.

Marxism itself would be pretty cool if it could be implemented. the problem is that it is idealistic pie in the sky that fails to take into account just how individualistic and selfish humans are on average. The only way it would work is if every person in said society had no selfish desires or individualism and could all see the greater picture, And the only things that really meet those criteria are computers

The more I learn about people’s opinions and myths about Marxism, the more supportive I become of repressive politics in socialist countries.

Absolute socialism, I mean complete socialism, 100% socialism. Because social and capitalism aren’t just discrete things, but exist on a spectrum, for example America has both capitalist and socialist traits, although overall is more capitalist than socialist. I guess that picture would also apply to anything that’s 70% socialist or more as well
