She can hardly be called a coward now as she’s not afraid to do tough love, as evident with her position as guidance counselor. Plus, she’s gained quite a bit of sarcasm and it’s afraid to be blunt with her speech. Plus, she’s not all “heroic, save the day, yaddayaddayadda.” Even Starlight’s shown to have weaknesses with her magic, as evident with the events with Cozy Glow. So saying that she’s still 100% Mary Sue is just completely biased and just hitting below the belt of an otherwise skewed argument because Starlight has actually developed as a character, not that you would know because “I no watch da show post-Season 6, boo-hoo-hoo.” Honestly, how many Lily Orchard clones are out there?

 
Sure thing as we see in Himmler’s case. But it’s not so simple sometimes there’re 100% Mary Sue chars which don’t pretend to be more than they are and therefore they can be acceptable.
 

 
Rey literally is a woman from nowhere who saw a light sword for the 1st time and immediatelly started fight with it. Because she fought with sticks in her childhood. Sure thing every child has a skill level of Jedi… What’s more Yoda says that there’s nothing she doesn’t know in all these 3.5 books of Jedi library which Luke “Hobo” Skywalker wants to burn out. That made me laugh.
 
Nyx is an reicarnation of NMM and therefore has very basic skills NMM obviously would have. In fact everything she’s good in is fighting. So it’s nothing strange she can confront Celestia who could not be involved in real combat for centures too.
 
Mary Sue doesn’t have personality. This’s questinable because Himmler had a personality of cowardly mean bitch at the end of S5 but was 100% Mary Sue in terms of magic power. She lost this personality with her “reformation” taking nothing else instead.
 
If you insist that Nyx has no personality then I don’t know what you mean for sure. Because she’s not predifined and static cartoonish character but literally starts her life as a tabula rasa and develops her personality during the story. And her development is absolutely logical. “Past Sins” is a story about “Who am I?” In fact she has a lot of cool things as adult alicorn but none of these helps her to solve her life problems except very few short-time episodes where she needs combat skills or ability to withstand serious damage.
 
I wonder how people can search for deep meaning and not see what’s lying on surface.

Nyx satisfies all the Mary Sue aspects listed here. Besides which, as that video proves, nobody actually cares about Mary Sues if they’re characters they like.

I guess if you’re so smart and I’m so dumb it wouldn’t take much time to show where I’m wrong in logics (like forgiving someone who did everything for that and kicking off someone who did nothing).

If you have not noticed she has her ass on the throne for more than 1000 years. Somehow she managed it without Twilight.
 
Celestia had her well established role to be like adult for a characters who act like a children. So it’s normal that she’s ideal and almighty like a mother for a little child. She can’t throw hystercs like a peasant woman without ruining the whole universe. Nothing less nothing more. She played it well. And I don’t remember in 1-2 seasons any episode that reqired her to act personally. The first bullshit was with Crystall Empire when it could be very logical for her to act personally not sending Twilight and her friends who in fact have no abilities to deal with such an enemy. And they did not leaving everything for Twilight.
 
But fans wouldn’t be fans if they wouldn’t mess fan-made decompositions with canon. I like Molestia and or this decomposition humour too but I understand what’s canon and what’s decomposition.

I asked you why Nyx supposed to be Mary Sue. Since I never played any of these games I can assume that you may be right about them. May be not. But even if you’re right about these games it doesn’t mean you’re right about Nyx or anybody else.

I actually agree. There has been a shift of politics in the show. There’s influences everywhere. Despite the show becoming more progressive it has actually declined on characters like the Buffalos and Zecora. Which is funny considering those were the most real to life characters in the show, but also the same to disappear.
 
Even as far as reformations shows a shift of thoughts between Hasbro’s staff (and we know there has been severe changes since S2)
