Timber didn’t USE Sci-Twi as a shield, he just jumped behind her cause he was startled! Everybody does that! And if you remember, Timber DID try and convince his sister to get rid of the geodes, and he did tell her they were dangerous, she just didn’t listen. And there was literally no way whatsoever he could have stopped her turning into a demon, because he wasn’t THERE when it happened! If you’re blaming anyone besides Gloriosa for that, it would be Twi and Sunset, because they were the ones who were actually there, but they didn’t stop her. Timber was doing nothing but trying to help his sister, AND Sci-Twi. He didn’t know anything was wrong with her because he didn’t KNOW about what happened at he Friendship Games. And Flash didn’t do any of those things to help Sci-Twi, either, and he DID know what happened at the Friendship Games, so I have no idea why you’re not blaming him as well.
 
Also, Timber doesn’t brag, he just jokes around. And besides, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with saying something good about yourself.

I quite like them. Timber had much more character and screentime than Flash ever did, and the attraction feels more realistic. But hey, I probably shouldn’t say that or I’ll get another heated debate going. Why do I smell popcorn…?
