Doesn’t seem that weird to me. Just slapping wings on unicorn doesn’t make them an alicorn, alicorns have their own special magic, are immortal, and have the magic of all three races.
 
Just stealing dash’s wings didn’t steal her pegasi magic, so a Unicorn with wings is still a far, FAR cry from being an alicorn, and there’s nothing wrong with an issue pointing that out.
