I personally liked the idea that they were dead because it would explain and fit some of Applejack’s personality traits, however I know the “I wish her parents were dead” sounds awful.

I hope they never come out and state it. It’s kinda obvious by now, and I think kids are smart enough to put things together. It is a kids show, but that doesn’t mean they’re stupid.
