Pinkie is the Party Pony equivalent of AJ, Dash, & Twilight. Why do you need anything more than that?
She’s a cute, adorable, framed, Pegasus who is best filly.
Because it wouldn’t be right for the party pony to give away someone’s cake. Even if that someone is Tirek.
The more I try not to question Pinkie Pie, the more my mind tries to find any kind of rational explanation. Since Party Favor’s introduction disproved my previous theory about earth ponies and disproportionately accumulated magic, my current best bet is that she is somehow part draconequus.
It’s Pinkie Pie, don’t question it.

To me, the weirdest thing about the Mane Six’s journey to Tartarus is that Pinkie Pie apparently had a freshly-baked cake in the shape of Tirek’s face with her the whole time and didn’t think to share it.

We’ve seen pegasi flying and Pinkie Pie being Pinkie Pie on the third day, so obviously not all types of magic were affected.
She was definitely an intriguing villain. I hope we get to see her backstory in season 9.
As to what she is, I hope she doesn’t turn out to be anything else than a power-hungry pegasus. All pony villains we’ve seen before Cozy were unicorns (or alicorns), so it brings a breath of fresh air. I kind of like the fan theory of her being older than she looks, though.
I thought it was specifically said all creatures would lose their magical abilities by day two.
Cozy reminds me of a dictator’s rise to power.
She walked into a place as any other person. Quickly rose up the ranks by being helpful and got all “cozy” with the staff. Playing chess along the way. Strategy. Shady master plan under her. Using opportunities to make allies and have the crowd loyal to her. Make the current authority seem cowardly.
Then when the time finally came she cracked down, eliminated most opposition, and seized power.
It practically only failed because of the Tree of Harmony being sentient.
I just want to know what in the world she is. Might just be something else in disguise.
My current headcanon is that Cozy Glow modified the ritual herself to ensure that pegasus and earth pony magic would be excluded. After all, unlike Tirek, she wasn’t stealing magic to use it, just to even out the playing field a little. She had nothing to gain by stopping herself from flying away if she ever gets in trouble, or reducing harvests, for that matter.
That was fast.
Unlike Tirek, not wasn’t all of them, only unicorn, spells, and artifacts were targeted, the rest were just fine
