Yeah it's quite the downgrade
You'll notice the major difference(s) of course and I'm not talking about shading.
Alas that's how western animation is these days,smooth rectangles connected to more smooth rectangles. Which just makes MLP stand out more with its colorful and (mostly) flowing animation.
