I don’t consider either fair game. I hate Chrysalis, and I don’t go around making a point of shitting on her based on that because I know that (the fact that I’d be eaten alive for it aside) it serves no purpose other than to anger her fans. I have spent most of my time in the fandom defending things I like from unfair hatred, I’m not going to contribute to it.

There’s nothing wrong with hating a character. But it’s really not necessary to harp on and on (for years at this point) about how much you hate that character. The biggest reason this fandom’s so damn toxic is because we gleefully shit on each other for preference sake…and I would say that isn’t healthy by any measure.

Eh to me you can still have a worst pony you just have to vocalize it somewhere appropriate such as a blog post or a thread made specifically for that kind of thing such as the unpopular opinion thread and not through low effort images clearly created with the sole intent of stiring up stupid drama and for the love of god never attack the fans of the character you hate not only does that quickly create massive shitstorms it just makes whomever is attacking the fans look even more pathetic.

of course i do. i just don’t take it very seriously. i don’t care if people like a character, and i don’t care if people dislike a character. i’m just saying, what with my super sekrit mod powers that let me see who bps really are and what deleted comments look like, starlight fans are every bit as obnoxious as starlight haters. and before someone gives me a “not all starlight fans” i’m going to preemptively reply with a “not all starlight haters”.

honestly, if you took a group of starlight haters and a group of starlight fans, put them together, and had them act their usual way except without revealing if they were a hater or a fan, i’d not be able to tell them apart. i’d have an easier time differentiating pink from salmon.

It’s not so much a question of worth. It’s a question of “what kind of person can hate a fictional character so much?” I would like nothing more than to simply agree to disagree, but it’s not so simple for reasons I don’t understand.
