The biggest twist of all. Thorax was just three ducks in a changeling costume
Actually, exoskeletons are really light, the sea scorpion and the arthopleura were the biggest arthropods that ever existed and could be more than two meters long, so it could totally be possible for Thorax to have only an exoskeleton.
But like you said it’s a cartoon so it could be anything, maybe he have a skeleton maybe he don’t, and maybe he’s just a bunch of parasprites in a costume.
You’d think he’d at least have to have some kind of skeleton do he isn’t crushed under the weight of his own exoskeleton, but it’s a cartoon so who cares
Put that in the description. X3
He’s an insect so technically no, but “spine” sounded better than “dorsal exoskeleton”.
Now that I think about it, this could make for a funny bit of dialogue:
Thorax: “Oh no! I can’t feel my spine!”
Ember: “You don’t have a spine”
Thorax: “Oh, so that’s why.”
