Ha! I’d just seen that while looking around the front page. Honestly, she seems at least mildly sociopathic and more than the usual amount of megalomaniac. Either treat her at a local hospital or send her to Equestria Girls to deal with (that is the established MO for problems in Equestria, see Sirens, Memory Stone, Sunset Shimmer).

I’m not worried about the fair trial bit, Equestria does have judges, but Celestia’s word is law.
 
What bugs me about it is that is not the kind of place you send a (likely) mentally ill pony that needs to be helped and then reformed. She should be in the Ponyville Hospital psych ward, not in forever-jail.

It’s not that she wasn’t reformed. She just wasn’t given a fair trial in a court of law.
 
Why? Celestia was likely afraid that Cozy would use her cuteness to avoid getting imprisoned. Implying Celestia doesn’t put much faith in the justice system.
 
Basically, it portrays Celestia as a tyrant who acts without at least consulting a court… Which is the opposite of how the season started. (Where in order for Twilight to get a school, she had to talk to the EEA, not Celestia.)

There didn’t seem to be any actual arrest happen. There are no rights read, no official notification of arrest. They just grabbed her on Celestia’s word and tossed her in Pontanimo Bay.
