|| Who knows. He might not even be a villain. He could be attempting to redeem the villains himself. Since there is a rumor he’s bringing Sombra to life (the Fürher returns…. Lovely.), it is a possibility he only wants to redeem the seemingly unredeemable. (A new character powerful enough to redeem multiple villains is something I don’t think has ever been done before.) ||

Could be. But I think it’s doubtful, because we already had the brainwashing with Shining Armor. I doubt Story Writers will play the same card twice when it comes to such critical questions.

Oh, I’d love that. But until we will see Season 9 premiere, I will not make any assumptions about the future. So far I do not think Grogar is such a threat that it requires an unconditional reformation of all previous antagonists.

|| A more reasonable redemption, I guess you could say, would be… Complicated. Maybe have Grogar attempt to, you know, show her that she’s outlived her usefulness. Than, because of some bound he formed, Tirek takes the fall. Cozy sees that her boss is evil and flees to warn the ponies. But the only ones who’ll listen are Starlight and Trixie. ||

|| Personally, I just hope they’ll have her get reformed in S9. Give the crazy pony a happy ending. Same applies to Chrysalis, LD, Tirek (only for joke purposes, like a big celebration where he doesn’t want to dance but Cozy convinces him to dance with her), and Sombra. (Because even villains should get a happy ending.) ||

The idea of Cozy hypothetically being revealed to be nothing more than a brainwashed pawn in a scheme wouldn’t be something that would appeal to me, because then she has no agency as a character before that point, and so it wouldn’t be much of a “redemption” at all. It would be like going from say, a Ford Pinto to a Honda Civic and saying they’re the same car because they’re both the same color. (Why I used a car metaphor there, I don’t know)

I admit that the chessboard theory has its appeal, but I think it is not very durable. Or let’s put it this way. Of course, the show staff isn’t stupid. Already from the first season it was clear that certain terms like queen or king could not be used without further ado. That’s why we have the princesses.
 
Personally, I like the chessboard theory, but I don’t think it’s very portable for the show. Cozy may be a little insane, and she’s definitely not of this world. But why using it as a tower, or wasting it, seems to me to be untenable. Especially when you consider that the most important figures are actually the king and the queen. And both are more or less already checkmate.
 
No, I stick with my opinion that Cozy is only the vanguard, but her cutie mark symbolizes that she tricks others. This Cutie Mark is nonsense, too. It should have been a pawn if anything. A figure that can turn into a queen. No, no, no. I don’t think much of this whole version. If at all, the chess board serves more or less as a source of ideas. But not as a real concept. Season 9 would have to surprise me so much that I would just sit there and drool in front of me otherwise.

|| Eeyup. The whole theory of him being like a games master isn’t my theory alone, but her cutie mark being caused by him is my theory. I don’t remember who thought of the chess idea though. I remember them suggesting King Sombra being the King, Queen Chrysalis being the Queen, Tirek being the other rook though.
 
I also theorize that the minor, non-reformed antagonists will make up the rest. The Flim Flam Bros., The Washouts (Mainly Ld), Dr. Cabolaron, Azluzulto (idk how to spell these two’s names.), Iron Will, Garble, and all the other unreformed antagonists. ||

|| I have a theory that Cozy Glow is under Grogar’s influence. Her cutie mark isn’t actually hers and merely represents her part in Grogar’s game of chess. I highly doubt she’ll be a big part on the bad guy side in S9 do to her already having been sacrificed, aka sent to Tartarus, so Grogar has no further use for her.. But that means she has a chance at redemption once the spell on her is broken… Provided they actually do it and don’t screw season 9 up. ||

I would just like to say at this point that I am one of those people who naturally consider Sunset’s triple presence in the MLP world to be canon, and who have never heard a reasonable argument as to why this should not have been the case. Without wanting to unleash a big discussion about it here. I don’t think much of separating these two franchises just to spare the feelings of others. At the latest with the representation of the sirens in Shadow Play this connection is sealed for me.

Oh, that was just getting into the blue for me. But now a short question: We only know the story of Grogar with Gusty the Great and her unicorn warriors. It does not mention at all that he is in another world. Or are you here on G1 Grogar and Shadow World? I mean, hey, that would be great! I’d totally agree with Gozy turning out to be sort of the vanguard. However, I still have my doubts here.
 
Well, too bad I would see more G1 Villains in G4. Most of all I miss Catrina.

I highly doubt they’re going to go with her being from the EQG world. First of all, Sunset will never appear in FiM, second, the idea of her working for Grogar is more plausible. He resides in another world too.

Well. It’s true, I missed the part about the other world. You could also translate you ponies with you (other) ponies, but it doesn’t make much sense. In fact, I seriously wonder if Cozy isn’t a human being (Equestria Girls). Hail vänskap kejsarinna! (Empress of Friendship)
