I have to be honest, I really don’t think that’s a fair or accurate assessment.

Please don’t; this was a terrible movie, made from an impossibly shitty book.

I was being partly ironic. The fact the movie’s biggest selling point was just cameo’s of vidya characters seems a bit sad to me.
