Is this bait? If so, I’ll bite anyways.
A lot of people I know in this fanbase are LGBT and support LGBT rights (this includes some artists and even some of the mods here). I’m not denying there’s some disgusting homophobic/transphobic people as well. Unfortunately, they do exist and they’re very extremely toxic and vocal. I’m not going to downplay that or pretend they don’t exist.
But at the same time, there are people in the fanbase that have fought against those people. There’s quite a lot of comment sections here where people defend LGBT people and their rights (and some of them are obviously LGBT themselves).
In fact, you can even see it in this one. Fauna Flight and mylittleyuri are both lesbians and they spoke up about how some girls are attracted to each other, not because there’s a lack of men in their life, but because they have genuine feelings to each other.
NO!
Your comment is wrong and utterly unfunny. Most of this fandom prefers STRAIGHT ships over LESBIAN and GAY ones. In fact, most of the people in this fandom are homophobic. If you ever watched the Bronies documentary, you would have noticed that there were NO gay fans in it. All the while, the the Bronies insisted that they are “NOT GAY!” And there are A FEW, not most, people in this fandom who DO prefer same-sex ships over straight ones, not because they like to self-insert.
However, if most people in this fandom preferred lesbian ships over straight ones, then this site would have more images in the “lesbian” tag than those in the “straight” tag by now.
You’re welcome.
It’s okay! I’m not too offended. Thank you for being so nice!
I’m sorry about that. Unfortunately, people tend to say ignorant things on here a lot. It gets really frustrating sometimes.
Uh, no. I’m a lesbian because I love girls, NOT because I’m missing the right guy in my life. That’s the most ignorant thing I’ve heard all day.
TRUTH. We exist. Thank you so much for speaking up!!!!! Give us the representation without a man Hasbro!
Agreed. Plus the two seemed to hit it off pretty well.
Agreed.
I rather like the idea of the OT3 for this trio, if for no other reason than Trixie benefits from having at least one pony besides Starlight who can put up with her for extended periods of time.
At the same time I do like how this episode gave fuel to the concept that Starlight and Trixie are not being presented in the show as super-serious lesbian lovers, they apparently had never even slept in the same room until this episode. I say let them be friends, neither seems really ready for romance regardless of orientation.

Some of us are females and alot of us don’t ship to self-insert.
@mylittleyuri
Basically what I was saying. That BP was being kinda rude and inconsiderate.
@Wechselbalg
Exactly. Shows that have a majority of male characters have quite a bit of male/male ships too.

OT3s can be fun and that’s one of the few OT3s I like in this fandom.
It’s cute.

You say that as if every cartoon fan wants to portray it that way.
Not really. It’s actually how cartoon fans wants to portray.
I’m referring to how some cartoons portray it.
Yes, they actually portray it the way I described.
that’s not how it works, a girl dates girls bc she is attracted to girls. NOT because there’s a lack of men. lesbians exist.
I was referring to it in general.
In most cases, they actually right the real reason behind it in. (A girl dates another girl because there aren’t any boys she likes in her life, or there aren’t any boys at akk)
Others just leave you wondering.
Not really. Most of fandom whose show consists mostly of females are bane to this.
Ahem, magical girl animes.
Uh… Other fandoms do it too. We just do it more often.
Nobodies better than Starlight. His choices only go downhill from there.

Hint: Its not only “this fandom”.
Their amazing nerdy chemistry in Uncommon Bond sold me the ship.
And every scene with both of them on screen convince me more that they make a cute couple.
wait you ship twiburst too? (asking bc I do kinda ship it)
