It’s funny that the year I joined this fandom was also a year with no less than three fandom dramas (Twilicorn, overall underwhelming season 3 and Equestria Girls).

The pic itself (without the caption) is at least six years old, so it would have to’ve been made in 2012 at lastest.  
Though I agree that the Caption would fit right in with the Twilicorn drama after the Magical Mystery Cure aired.

Well the writers specifically made Twilight look evil in that particular episode in attempt to re-direct the audience’s affection to Starlight (not that she deserves any of that).

Oh well, Hasbro has basically swept her wrongdoings under the metaphorical rug (just like every other reformed villain), so you can like “Good” Starlight if you want.  
Personally, I liked her better as a villain.

Mm good point, messing about with time lines is quite evil…tbh I never really thought about Glimmer’s acts and kinda in a way thought they were two different characters…that’s probably my fault for watching the episodes out of sequence, lol.

As far as Trixie goes… fair point, though she could’ve done a bit of reading up on the Alicorn Amulet before using it.  
But even if Starlight is basically the new S1-3 Twilight, and even if we don’t have to live with or even see the consequences ever again, messing up multiple timelines is still the most heinous act any MLP:FiM villain has ever committed.  
Unless she basically becomes MLP’s equivalent of Time Patroller Trunks from Dragon Ball Online, Heroes and Xenoverse (which I’m not convinced is 100% out of the in-universe realm of possibility, even though we’ll almost definitely never see anything of the sort), there’s no good she can really do to atone for those sins.

Huh, Trixie is innocent bitch, she’s just an entertainer who got a little item to help improve her shows, she did’nt know that would make her evil. Also Glim Glam was brainwashed by Twilight and now the student has become the master, but when she is asked to make a friend, then Twilight’s like “btch, you cannot have that friend because i’m an ass who still dosen’t trust you even after i brainwashed you, btch, Look at me Twilight, I’m the pirncess of friendship but I can’t let two reformed people be friends because i still don’t trust them,hahahahah!”. Starlight is the new Twilight. The Twilight we love is dead and replaced by a pretentious asshole. Though we still do have sci-twi who is the re inbodiment of classic Twilight. And also Starlight.

In Twilight’s defense, Starlight brainwashed an entire village, stole their cutie marks (and their talents by extension), imprisoned the Mane Six, tried to brainwash them, stole their cutie marks (and talents), then later repeatedly tampered with the space-time continuum, and in the process, created multiple timelines in which everypony in Equestria is either dead, enslaved, or fighting a losing battle for survival.  
I think that, at least up to that point, she’d been deserving of at least a little bit of harshness.  
Also, Trixie enslaved Ponyville for… I dunno how long. A day, maybe? Either way, that was a bad too.

I’m just gonna say that princess twilight was a b*tch to Starlight and Trixie, so based on that I prefer classic Twilight, She’s become less of that adorkable character that we loved before she got ‘dem wings and now is a rather whiny and pretentious son of a b*tch. Starlight does a better job at being a princess of friendship than her, and i’m not even joking.

This is kind of that thing but with a character. Characters have certain roles and meaning and abilities to them and for Twilight that has somewhat changed when she became a “princess character” and then changed some more over time due to changes that were the necessary result of these changes like replacing part of her role with Glimmer.
 
You could argue that change has to happen but it also destroys a character which is for example why the simpsons never actually change.
 
She may technically be the same character but her role and meaning and abilities, implications etc. are now very different.
 
Goku is just going to fly, fight, scream and punch things regardless of his hair color.

Honestly, Princess Twilight has moved on to a different role, and Starlight has more or less filled in the gap that pre-princess Twilight left.
