Funny thing is that there weren’t a lot of Aliens video games back then, this was before the first AVP game, the mod itself came out in the early 90’s I believe, I think back then most of the Aliens games were platformers and such. I remember there being a lot of tension between the part of the Doom fandom that enjoyed the mod and those that followed 21st Century Fox following rumors of the first AVP game to be released. It was a interesting time to be part of the Aliens fandom.  
Heh I was just reading the wikia page for the Aliens TC, I guess Fox mostly ignored the Doom mod but I now remember that in the late 90’s they were going to try making a similar mod for Quake but it so happens that’s when the first AVP game was being made, that was when Fox issued a warning to the mod team to stop what they were doing or get sued.

I think the doom guy became a generic space marine, but it’s been a long time since I touched that mod, but otherwise they changed as much content in the game as possible to content from the first and second movies.  
Also its the first fan made mod in a game to get a cease and desist from a major cooperation. :p

Nope, sure haven’t. Sounds like a good mod for that game though, Xenomorphs would fit right in with the rest of the Hellspawn from Doom.
 
Did they change the face sprite for Doomguy to look like Ellen Ripley too? That’d be neat to see. I’d love to play a game as Ripley, kicking ass and taking names.

Some of the Alien and Predator games have been pretty good, as well as some not-so-good. It’s give and take with franchises as big as this one.
 
I haven’t played it for a while now, but I remember really enjoying Alien: Isolation. Then again, I avoided Colonial Marines due to how much everyone seemed to despise it.
 
Like I said, give and take. Think of it this way, there will always be garbage muddying the stream, but we’ll never forget the crystal clear waters of those good games and movies that did come out.

I believe the AvP game that came out in 2000 was regarded as the best, I also liked the one that came a few years after I, think that’s the one that let you evolve from a chest buster and let eat small critters as you grew bigger and bigger.  
I really really enjoyed Aliens The Comic Book Adventure… But that game was released in the early to mid 90’s and is a MS-DOS game with some really heavy DOS based requirements that I have had Zero luck getting it to run on modern systems…

As often seems to be the case, there were some scenes I liked, some I didn’t, but generally I felt that it didn’t quite live up to the potential the premise had.
 
I think the idea that a human can earn a Predator’s respect is canon, though. As I recall, that’s basically what happens at the end of Predators 2, the hero gets one of the slain predator’s old trophies. I do find that interesting, that even though (to my knowledge) the Predators never get any actual lines, it’s still possible to figure out some of their thought process.

One of the few scenes I thought worked in the movie, if only because it added to the lore. I liked that the Predators would be willing to honor a warrior from a different alien (to them anyway) species.
 
Too bad the movie was trash.

Well, while canon to neither series it’s a crossover between, a woman in Alien VS Predator was given a mark by the Yautja (predators) that meant she was recognized as an honorary member of their kind when she helped them kill off the Xenomorphs.

Come to think of it, I think even in canon Xenomorphs won’t attack creatures they don’t consider to be threats (such as the cat in the first film). I’m sure an adorable filly qualifies.
