Trust me, Aztec usually overshadow olmecs, toltecs, the city of Teotihuacan, Tlaxcala, Totonacs, but the mayans are more or less safe by being recognized as well.
Not that it matters that much, outside of the gods I must admit I'm not exactly the most enthusiast regarding prehispanic cultures. Mexico's history turns interestng from the Spanish conquest onwards for me.
And trust me, our historical figures are far more complex than they look, outside of Victoriano Huerta (and trust me I made a fucking effort trying to find his good side, and I did found it, he was a family man at least in one text, but yeah he doesn't have a lot) none of our historical figures are clearcut, but mexicans have the nasty habits of making just heroes and villains but oh no, you can't have actual people as historical figures. Now I know what Groundskeeper Willie feels regarding other scots.
By the way, Santa Anna was president 11 times in all the history, but in overall time he was only six years, he never lasted that much. I should study that part of Mexico because the first independent years are a huge chaos.
