As for Flash, just because his first two relationship attempts didn’t work out is no reason to think he’ll be forever alone. I realize kids these days seem to think that you have to get it right on the first try or something, but he’s still in high school. He has his entire life ahead of him. A little soon to be worrying about his being lonely.
 
None of that matters to the show. Flash’s love life isn’t the show. Encountering Equestrian magic and dealing with that mess is the show. The main characters being friends is the show. Slice of life stuff involving the main characters is the show. Flash is just that guy that sometimes gets a bit part.
 
Your choice to stick with your ship is your choice. Not my ship, but that has nothing to do with you liking a ship. The difference is some idiots try to claim their ship is canon, or they worry that other people liking different things will literally mind control them into boarding ships they dislike or some other crazy bs.

Dude, calm down a little bit. Spike’s a sentient dog. He’s not a simple pet anymore reacting to base instinct anymore. If anything, I’d think Twilight would consider Spike’s happiness important too. As for Flash, his ex was a crazy, evil demon when they dated and the girl he had a crush on could never be with him as she went back to her dimension and her counterpart already has Timber. Just because he’s not as important in the EQG line anymore doesn’t mean the guy deserves to be lonely. I’d hope for them both to be happy, even if we never see what that ammounts to on screen.
 
As for the main storyline, I’ll go down with the SS Sparity if necessary. For real, it’ll suck if they decide to end sparity in canon but I’d accept it. Still ship them in fan headcanon, though. If Fluttermac/cheerimac shippers can carry on after Sugarmac then so can I.

AU fanfics can either contradict or support something that fits the series, or both. Heck, some people worked on fan projects such as Double Rainboom or made audio dramas. (And yes, I am aware of the Cease and Desist thing.)
 
But if you don’t like deviating from the topic, I’ll stop for now and also apologize for what I am arguing.

What does that have to do with the price of tea in China? It’s a show seeking to tell the stories of women and provide role models to young girls. It isn’t a matter of being better, it is a matter of the show seeking to serve a particular goal.
 

 
Because those people are idiots and deserve nothing but mockery and scorn. See the image we’re commenting on. Just because some people are wrong and voice an opinion that contradicts simple facts doesn’t mean you ought to be swayed by them.
 
As for the rest, you’re rambling all over the place. I don’t care about your fantasies. Write your fanfic. Do whatever you like. This conversation is about MLP:FiM/Equestria Girls. You asked about the show itself and why it doesn’t do a thing. You have your answer. It is the right answer. Just because you like dudes or have shipping preferences doesn’t really interest anyone but you. It doesn’t define the show either.
 
Protip though: if you’re keen on Hasbro being on board with your creative efforts, you might want to actually figure out what the show is actually about, and produce something that actually fits the show and supports the messages of the show. They aren’t going to be very interested in things that directly contradict what they’re going for.
 
I wish you luck in overcoming the glaring handicaps in comprehension and reasoning that you have. You’ll want to overcome those if you want to be successful professionally as a content creator.

People like me are not who you need to worry about when it comes to ships. I have my ideal ships, but I don’t rip into people over having theirs. To each their own. I don’t agree with Appledash in the slightest, yet I’ve never said anything negative about it to those who enjoy it. I’m all for a good debate, but only with open minded people. Otherwise I’ll debate with my cat. So far no one here has been overly close minded or rude, so I’ll keep going until I deem it time to unsubscribe from this post.

Also, this is why I am afraid to talk about my favorite ships. Because no matter how I accept the fact that nobody is gonna have the same opinion as me, I can’t try to not get all riled up over it, and then I get saddened that I feel like the only Sparity shipper around the site to the point where I am gonna explode, when in reality i’m not the only one.

Why does Spike the dog need a companion? He’s a dog. He’s Twilight’s pet. He gets plenty of attention as such from all the girls and seems perfectly happy chasing squirrels. Want him to have a ship? Then it needs to be another dog. So what that he talks now, he’s still just a dog.
 
As far as Flash or Timber Spruce? Honestly I’m surprised Timber has even shown up outside of LoE. And Flash had a crush on pony Twi, got talked out of Sci Twi by Sunset, then tried to start over with Sunset. She had no interest in being more than friends. He didn’t seem to like that. End of Flash’s story imo.
 
Relationships don’t need to be shoehorned into the show. We’ve seen human AJ and human Rarity showing signs of being closer to each other than with the other girls since the first movie, so at this point if it became canon it wouldn’t be shoehorned in or feel forced.
 
Now for dragon Spike, especially since he seems to finally be showing signs of growing up. He should be going after another dragon. He should be over his “crush with the babysitter (Rarity)” phase by now.

And if Shipping does not define the quality of the show? Why do people claim that Rarijack and SunsetSparkle are canon when others beg to differ (and not the crew behind the series)?
 
If Flash was unimportant, he wouldn’t have been Twilight’s love interest at all. Same with Timber.
 
Oh, I’ll write a fanfic. If it’s possible to adapt it into a screenplay for either a fan film or a fan episode of EqG if official crew can’t do it since fanfics are NOT official and it can be seem as unadaptable. (As long as I either try to stay out of legal trouble or have Hasbro’s permission, which it could be difficult to ask a company for permission.)

The show isn’t teaching misandry. Not focusing on male characters is not misandry. The show focuses on female characters.
 
Shipping is the fan’s activity. Just because fans dislike a character isn’t the fault of the show. Don’t conflate the two. Shipping doesn’t define the quality of the show.

Flash is unimportant. He can get himself a girlfriend if he wants to. It doesn’t have to happen on screen, and it doesn’t have to be with any main characters. If you personally are invested in his character, write a fanfic or something.

I still like both the show and EqG, hell, even the movie. I just do not want misandry to be taught to girls in both the show and Equestria Girls just because the fandom said so. I mean, when is Flash Sentry’s hatedom fade away, and when will the writers make Spike happy when his crush is with someone else (i.e. Applejack)?
 
I understand people will disagree and yeah not everyone likes male characters or care for them, just like Naruto fans does with female characters, and yes, I have to accept that. But I just don’t want Spike and Flash to suffer loneliness just because the fandom said so, even if Spike is doing better in FiM.
 
Also, do you like female characters better than male ones?

Making things under the philosophy of feminism can result in bad things, like the Ghostbuster 2016 movie. It can also result in good things, like MLP. Lauren Faust had been for years and continues to be someone who seeks to do the latter. She tries to make pro-girl things that showcase strong female characters (not strong in power level, but strong in a literary sense).
 
Your fear that all things done in this way will result in a bad end is simply unfounded. MLP is good, and proves a feminist show can be good. It doesn’t have to change away from what it is to become good, it’s already there.
 

 
Your personal shipping preferences don’t apply to the quality of the show overall. Just because you and other fans react badly to certain ships isn’t the fault of the creators, but the fault of idiots behaving poorly. Don’t blame the show for the fans. Blame the show only for the show.
 
It is for girls, and it is based on strong female characters. Yes that does mean it can’t have strong male characters. Strong male characters are not role models for young girls to emulate. Strong male characters exist in plenty of other properties, and males have tons of role models to emulate. You don’t need them in every show in existence. Let MLP be female-only. Just because “mixed” shows exist doesn’t mean MLP needs to become one.
 
You can want these things, but that doesn’t matter. The show is what it is. What other shows do isn’t a set of rules MLP must follow. Do remember that back in 2011, it was rather pioneering in feel and tone for doing what it does.
 

 
This is your question. The answer is that the show isn’t interested in pursuing goals that would benefit from stronger male characters. It is and always has been focused on providing stories and role models for little girls. The fact that you males outside the target demographic also like the show is not a reason it should change to cater to you. If you like the show, like the show and appreciate it for what it is.
