I insist that I am not asking this question because I don't like the result. I'm not sure why everyone has to attack this straw man. I liked Twilight becoming an alicorn; I could write a thesis about how important that was. I thought EqG 1 was pretty good and Rainbow Rocks was the best thing to happen to the whole series! Rarijack is my second-favorite ship. With those things aside, I'd like to know why you think "because the American government said so" is a good grounds for canon.
