We would never have found out about the censorship without the leak. I want to bet this kind of stuff happens more often than we’d like to think; we just don’t know about it most of the time.
this is nothing compared to some of the stupid censorship that happened in the past(not just in the 2000).
the real ghostbusters had to be designed Janine to have round glasses and not pointy ones because Q5 thought it would be too scary for children and at one point it was not allowed for the Ghosts to be dead people despite already showing that.

I mean as someone who was once a little kid, I think I can vouch that this sort of thing never caused any psychological harm, after growing up on a diet of cartoons with similar occasionally horrific imagery, like spongebob for instance.
