It’s not just “valid and reasonable criticism”, but it also have a substance that will give the artist the idea to improve, not just criticizing for the sake of criticizing.
Let’s see what that background pony said
“it’s pretty bad
the shape of the horse/ tree does not look good
the shading on the character looks terrible, barely in the background
the tree trunk isn’t colored in all the way
the image looks extremely compressed
and the flowers are copy pasted”
The only thing I can get that give the artist a good point to improve is this one “the tree trunk isn’t colored in all the way” only that other isn’t.

@judays201
He didn’t, lemme give you quote you again what he said
“and yet it looks like that”
It basically said “it’s true that the art is bad”
Here’s an example of constructive criticism that I can think from this image.
“One of the thing that I can see can be improve from the image is that line in the left hoof, for me it’s quite look deform and creating more curvy line will make the hoof more natural.”
Next time before defending someone try to read what THEY ACTUALLY WROTE first. And see if they are what you think they are. Honestly I am started to be heated to read your comment.
@Background Pony #3C98
Here’s an advice, if you think the art is terrible. Give the artist a constructive feedback in respectful manner, I honestly tired to see people only say “this art is terrible” “this art is objectively bad” like those are a facts. The artist is a human, they spend so much energy and time on their art and seeing people commenting on their art like that, it only make them frustrated and disappointed. Look I get everyone have their own taste, but there is a way to say your opinion better. Like how I said my opinion here.
As for the art well, I think it’s cute, though for my personal preference it’s not the best and the OC design could be better, But still cute nonetheless.
@Background Pony #3C98
Look, if you don’t like it, just move on to the next thing; it’s only going to be here for three days anyway. You don’t need to rain on everyone else’s parade.
@NovaQuill
I never said he was terrible at it. And I thought it was obvious I was referring to his cubism works. The point is that just because an art piece isn’t realistic doesn’t mean it’s lacking in quality. As Doctor Love stated below, it’s obvious how much love and passion Noot put into this.
Oh yes, Picasso was terrible at painting humans. No skill at it whatsoever. /s
There’s a difference between adopting a style, in Picasso’s case cubism; with its own set of rules and guidelines and someone pointing out that this piece -while certainly not terrible; has some pretty glaring anatomy errors. Even the show follows a certain structure.
Sorry @Nootaz, I’m happy you got featured, and I hope you continue to challenge yourself and improve.
Sigh, goddamn I hate to see that guy(s) in the comment section that just…ugh, anyway. As for the art well, I think it’s cute, though for my personal preference it’s not the best and the OC design could be better, But still cute nonetheless. As for the artist one of the thing that I learn is for being an artist is “Don’t give a f***”, just keep drawing and improving. It’s what make you happy.
Hmm…. No, it’s certainly not the best. I can agree with certain anon’s about that. But I can see the how much love Nootaz put into this piece, and frankly it’s just plain adorable.
Here’s a lofe lesson for everyone to take a walk from this. People are going to try to get you down, someone will give a problem over something. It happens… but you know what? Keep moving forward. Looknat what you’ve done and remember why you did it, and what it means to you. Remember the plenry of people who’ve supported you and helped you come so far. You did that, don’t let anyone take that away from you.
And as for everyone else, you hace a problem with something or someone? Okay, we understand. It happens too… However, that doesn’t mean anyone should feel bad about what they’ve done. You may not see it as the best thing, but others do for other reasons. Try to put yourself in the person place. Wonder why they do what they do, why did they make this and what it could mean to them. And hell, try to even think of this, the person might just need this. It’s a small action, and while you make not agree with it try to think how much a person would feel about it. They could be going through a lot and this is that big shining sun after their own dark storm that they truly did need.
