I had that thought too.
She ended up getting corrupted by thirst of power as she was trying to ensure her changelings prosper.
Causing her to lose sight of things.
That’s entirely likely.
Perhaps it’s like Ganondorf (as implied in Wind Waker). She started out being motivated by the suffering of her people/envy towards the prosperity of other races, but as more of her plans succeeded, she became increasingly more and more power-drunk and lost sight of that motivation.
she originally invaded Canterlot to find food for her people
Or maybe its just an excuse to extend her power…..
|| I love Chrysalis, in a way that the more she is evil the merrier :p ||

sigh
I can see you aren’t going to see anything but your way and your way alone.
The fact that she originally invaded Canterlot to find food for her people, that isn’t really evil. Which could’ve actually given her more character than just being a token villain.

Yeah, but now impractically so.
She walked in the door evil, it’s always been her characterization.
I forgot about that.
Still, I say it was bad writing to just make her go completely evil like that.
She’s also cackled in delight while torturing prisoners, so…

Not really.
It was just a instance of bad writing that made her super selfish and such, which I do find to be rather dumb, since she herself stated that it was her responsibility to find food for her subjects.

Just let the picture be cute, damn.
Maybe she’s still hiding her sensitive side somewhere. Either way, I still hope this fanon concept comes true.
…that said, the drones themselves are adorable, here.
