One of the things that bothers me the most is that I can’t look at this OC the same way anymore. From now own, my brain will automatically go “Hey look, it’s Aqua Jewel, the OC in that tiny gif loop which cost more than my rent.”

I mean, you’ve gotten people to stop talking about the price. Now everyone’s talking about how much of a prick you appear to be in their eyes for wanting to give the ability to take away commenting rights to people who are not mods of this site. Also, think of how impractical your decision would be given the nature of Derpibooru: anyone could, at any given point in time, untag the currently tagged artist and replace it with their own artist tag if they have one, then block comments. If your idea was to be implemented, there’d either be anarchy as people try to take advantage of the system to silence conversations they don’t like, or the entire site would be changed to accommodate it. It would either be hell for the users or hell for the developers.

Because gambling is way different than auctions.  
For one: if you lose at an auction, you don’t have to pay.  
And second, gambling has the chance of rewards that are of greater financial worth than what you first bet, or at least gives you the chance to win back what you’ve already lost.
