Actualy no. if we where always compleat dicks to one another. We would not be here today. IT was not some middle eastern jew (not a slur. he literally ways jewish) that taught people compassion and kindness we allready knew that. Humans always have been fickle creatures.
we are kind and yet cruel. We are intelligent yet fucking morons.
we differ we live. we learn from one another.
there is no one who could claim that they “invented” morality as each cultures morals are diffrent and flex with each passing day. Thats how it works.That is how it always worked. that is how it will always work.
I don’t mind bible quotes that much, though I’ve never been a fan of old English. But this doesn’t even make sense in context to me. The heck does it mean.
@Zaknel
You’re as bad as those “Is this a JoJo reference?!” memers. There are MANY things that allign with the bible. Hell I saw someone compare Spongebob characters to the 7 sins. Christianity is itself plagiarized and incredibly recent compared to all the other religions that have these same morals. It has so little original content hardly anything can be attributed to it really.
@MemeBot
“And by insulting a Christian’s religion, that means you are insulting the person!”
I didn’t even need to read your name to realise you are simply here to be sarcastic. Cmon, don’t do that, people are taking you seriously.
@OverlordScorpion
There is no religion that can co-exist with another. That is the nature of religion. Derpibooru already experiences this with Celestianity and Lunarism, and now you wanna add a 3rd and far weaker religion into the mix? Non-christians will always be found in those places where fun and freedom mix.
It’s so curious how derpibooru is so aggressively adverse to religion. You’d swear the site is populated by vampires and they have just gone to the beach.
@Wechselbalg
By that reasoning, people would be abstaining from social media or even comment sections, and yet, here we are…
@Wechselbalg
Religion and politics have always been deeply intertwined. Kings and queens would exert their authority in the name of god and the divine order. Those who disagreed were branded heretics and views were advertised through god. These things actually got better over time as we grew more distant from religion because we didn’t allow it to control us the same way anymore. Now we are able to think critically about these things and many don’t like what they see.
Remember tho that people nowadays are more distant from religion because it has been mostly politicized and gave more emphasis on arbitrary command, control, and mobbing those who disagrees instead of just being nice for each other.
@Wechselbalg
You didn’t. That bit wasn’t directed at you.
@BronyAirman2552
Yeah, I guess so but I have to disagree with the term today. People in the past weren’t much better in terms of morality than us especially 2000 years ago. And we have made some progress since then. For example women aren’t getting stoned to death in civilized countries anymore. I would say Martin Luther (reformation) was pretty important, too since he criticized the churches nonsense and lead people to adapt better values eventually.
@Background Pony #6BE7
Doesn’t matter if God is real or not. What matters is Jesus was a real guy, who taught people to not he dicks to each other. Too bad a lot of people today ignore his lessons.
@MemeBot
It’s a direct insult to me if someone calls me retarded regardless of the reason although some reasons are more deserving than others depending on whether someone has arguments for their claim. MLP is not an opinion and the person would have no arguments. I would not mind if someone says it’s stupid because it kinda is.
Also:
Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able?
Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing?
Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing?
Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing?
Then why call him God?
-Epicurus
@Background Pony #6BE7
Excuse me??? He insulted the person I worship! He literally said God is evil! You call that non insulting??? Lets say someone said that you were retarted for watching MLP FiM, you would start to get a little pissed…
@Wechselbalg
It’s not even confined at all. Being nice to each other is something you can just do even without being promised heaven or fearing a loving gods eternal wrath.
@MemeBot
You protect your opinion by saying that you are offended as a person by someone stating something else. Where have I heard that before?
@Wechselbalg
Of course not! You don’t have to be nice as a Christian, and you don’t need to be a Christian to be nice! It all boils down to how you treat each other. And by insulting a Christian’s religion, that means you are insulting the person!
