But does this say that one must truely be the direct daughter of Faust, and that Celestia being the daughter of Faust was explicitly born with the Spirit. Does this then imply that we are without the Spirit ourselves and exist only as imperfect beings who can only reach out to try and achieve redeeming virtue for the Holy Mother?

The man is wounded by the original sin, with which we are all born. As a result of the sin of Anon, human and pony nature are subject to ignorance, suffering and the dominion of death, and inclined to sin - an inclination to evil that is called “concupiscence”.
But the plan of Faust is a plan of salvation. She sent her Daughter Celestia, who suffered for us in order to redeem humanity and ponykind from the suffering of the sin. Celestia’s gift of salvation offers us the Grace, the free and undeserved help which is necessary to persevere in the pursuit of the moral virtues.

As for the Holy Spirit (another divine person with Celestia and the Mother, symbolized by the Phoenix Philomena): in his Summa Caelestiae Saint Thomas Equinas explains that, in our daily exercise of the virtues, which are obtained through our effort and intellect (prompted by Grace), the Spirit bestow upon us the Seven gifts: sapientia, intellectus, consilium, fortitudo, scientia, pietas, timor Caelestiae.
These spiritual gifts complete and perfect the virtues of those who receive them.
