Forgot the sequence of ponies suddenly ripping their cutie mark stickers off and falling into formation while crude missile launchers come rolling out of buildings.
Plus a cut of Simbra’s horn smashing through a glass case in the Crystal Empire with a disembodied voice going: “Crysssstalssss….”

There’s almost a cult following of people beleaving every show around is going south somehow, pretty much anything made is considered to be that, heck even stuff that’s not even been aired yet is somehow getting worse. Just trolls, pure and simple. :P
also, dishonourble mention to the guy who keeps hacking Hasbro to release unfinished episodes, confidential emails, etc. Like the show or not, its a real duck move to jab a screwdriver in the literal works
@Background Pony #E17D
Exactly that. This stuff is ultimately a personal taste thing. It’s okay for people to dislike characters, episodes, or dislike how the show is going. That’s ultimately their opinion. I don’t agree with it but they have every right to have their opinions on the show (just like we do). The problem I have is sometimes people act condessending to people they disagree with (it happens with both sides by the way but I’ve seen it more with people who think the show is going south).

Ultimately anyones enjoyment (or lack thereof) is entirely subjective to that indevidual, as is pretty much anything in entertainment. I personally enjoy the show despite some episodes being ‘meh’ to me, which may be the bees-knees to someone else. As always, each to their own opinion in this case.
The idea that the show is on a downward spiral has been around since like… s1-ep3 or something. Its a guarintee that any show that isn’t a one-off will have that one person, or group, who beleave anything after the pilot episode is utter ‘crud’, not just because Faust left the show, or Twicorn, etc. Most of them are just trolls, say anything to get people angry or upset.
The fact that the show (irrespective of how people view the episodes) is technically still going obviously shows there’s an audience for it, right?
@Officer Hotpants
Poochie was a “hip and fresh” character that was added to the Itchy and Scratchy show. It was The Simpsons’ way to poke fun at the trend of some franchises introducing new characters characters that get massive amount of hatred from their fanbases (which is what this is saying about Starlight) as well as poking fun at the trend that some content creators do by trying to be hip and modern to grab the attention of younger people (but it just makes the content look silly and actually dated).
@SharpEdge
That’s honestly how I feel about it (and the movie). Still love the show and respect it and it has a charm to it that keeps pulling me back to it. But I felt that the early seasons had its few share of “meh” episodes that people might be forgetting about due to nostalgia goggles. I’ve had episodes in each season where I’ve said, “that was a bad episode” and “that was a good episode” in so I haven’t really been swayed at the idea of “this great perfect show is going towards a downwards spiral” thing that some people talk about (especially when it happens so often: season 2 got complaints for the season finale introducing another alicorn Princess, for Faust leaving, and Derpygate, and season 3 had the Discord reformation and Twilight becoming an alicorn drama, and season 4 brought Equestria Girls and that brought its own baggage of complaints, etc.)

The only intellectual cartwheels are from the people who didn’t realize it was always merely an average show with some novelty to begin with and honestly hasn’t gotten much better or worse since.
In today’s thread hangers on do intellectual cartwheels to avoid thinking about the fact that the show is not only ending, but turned to trash years ago through repeated attempts to get rid of them.
@Esteban
Cadance is in the back because of the last 4chan cup.
/mlp/ reached the finals all the way to the penalties, and Cadance (impersonated in the player HI ANON!) failed her penalty which caused /mlp/ to lose. Hence the “there was an attempt.”
@Goobington
…Do we know what we want out of this show though? Does the target audience (the children) know what they want out of it? I’m gonna be honest with you. I don’t think we do sometimes a lot of times.
Whenever someone makes the Poochie comparison, I’m always reminded that the kids in that scene had no cohesive idea of what they wanted out of the show.
@Esteban
>Cadance
>at least an attempt at actual character
You fucking wot m8? She’s there because /mlp/ lost the last year’s 4chan cup match due to her fucking up penalty. Lurk more before making a ridiculous interpretation, jesus christ.
@Background Pony #1B7C
I think Cadance is there because she was at least an attempt at actual character even though she was also forced and mandated by hasbro. Cadance is just laughing because of 2 reasons: First is that she’s a reference to the meme character from Simpsons and he laughed in that scene. Second is that she makes a meta joke about her tricking the fandom about being a character and not a Poochie/Scrappy Doo/Chloe of this series.
