With the AIB Mobile Banking app you can manage your everyday banking anywhere and anytime, from your phone. Freedom and flexibility to do whatever you need, whenever you want.

Meeting your needs:
- If you want to become an AIB customer and need a current account, you can open an AIB account on the AIB app if you're aged 16 and over, live in the Republic of Ireland and have a valid passport or other acceptable Photographic ID.
- Personal Loan: Use the app to apply for a personal loan or loan top-up, up to €30,000.
- Overdraft: Apply for an overdraft in your app in minutes.
- Credit card: Apply in your app in minutes.

Making and managing payments has never been easier:
- Pay another AIB customer with Pay a contact using just their phone number. Maximum transfer is €1,000
- Simply pay another Irish bank account with a one-off payment up to €1,000
- Avail of Apple Pay, & Fitbit Pay.
- Quickly manage standing orders & debit debits
- View, print, save & share up to seven years of statements.

Safeguarding your banking:
- Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) adds an extra layer of security to your online shopping.
- Tap your transactions to see more information like the time, date and type of transaction made.
- Freeze your lost card to keep your money safe – and it's just as easy to unfreeze the card if you find it.
- Need a replacement card? Use the app to cancel your old one and have a new one posted to you.
- Secure Login - Use a compatible smartphone to login securely with FaceID or TouchID.

You can also use the AIB Mobile app to:
- Quick balance: Check up to two balances without logging in.
- Change your address: If you have a sole account, you can change your address on the AIB app.
- See your PIN: If you forget a Debit card PIN you can see it in the app.
- Open a Savings or Current account: You can open an account in minutes

Version 4.71.1

In this release we are introducing a prompt to update and verify your contact details if you have not already told us they are up to date. If you miss the PUSH message to approve an online transaction, you can now see this in the App. We have improved the voice over on some payment journeys and you may also see an option to leave an App review is you so wish.

Needs a workaround

I’ve had all the problems that others have mentioned here. In particular, the security update consistently fails to install thus rendering the app unusable. Anytime you really need to use the app. It WILL work if you delete/reinstall. Seems like a 20th century solution. Perhaps the bank should consider joining the 21st century

Wish I could give it 0 starts: completely antiquated

AIBs technology is by far the worst I have seen from a bank that operates in 2023.
This app constantly has errors that CS directs you to delete and redownload as a solution. Upon which you need to verify everything again with a plastic CARD READER. I had to have completed their two step verification process dozens of times with countless errors
In order to access your ONLINE banking you need either to download this terrible app or have a plastic card reader. So if you are traveling, you need to remember to carry a pointless piece of plastic just to access your bank, since the app never works. Absolutely ridiculous that I need TWO tools to access my online account (forcing me to have the app or a card reader simply to login and see my balance). If you try to do a bank transfer of more than €1k it fails and you need to call CS for them to “push it though.”
I wanted to close my account and they told me the only way was to main a HAND written letter sent to the bank manager with all my personal data in it. This is the OPPOSITE of caring about someone’s sensitive personal information and should be in legal breach
Truly the most antiquated and terrible bank I’ve ever had the displeasure of doing business with

“security” update broke online banking

when i first opened an AIB account in 2019 the online banking system worked quite well. Now, however, I am unable to use the app after doing the “1-time setup” because the app forced me into a security update that always fails. Even worse, online banking with the new SCA security forces me to register with my phone, but every time i go through the entire process and it tells me i’m done it sends me right back to the start and I CANT ACCESS MY ACCOUNT. Utterly worthless security updates are making my account so secure even I can access it!
