Then in the spirit of keeping things simple and encouraging the idea of fandom interaction, can she keep the name untill somthing better or more official comes along?
@zippysqrl
I only tagged two images. I dont know who did the others. Aren’t there heaps of characters that have been named by the fandom? Everything big starts from humble origins. I’m well aware that the moment she recieves an official name then the one the fandom picks will be toast (although there are exceptions) but she need’s something to be identified by till then.
@EPPony
And I’d rather we not have 100 names for one character, or go with a typical cutiemark-related name one random dude decided to tag on every image.
Oh fine. If you guy’s wanna change her name go right ahead but for the love of faust replace it with something a bit more imaginative then “Trixie’s mom”. Something that will help to give her a character of her own and imply a life and backstory of her own rather then rely entirely on her relation to trixie.Something that will help inspire the fandom to create exciting fanworks revolving around her.
@kleptomage
Well, my reasoning was that her name meant to invoke femininity, flamboyance as well as inner strength.
And I like puns.
As for the sunflower thing, not everypony’s name matches their cutie mark. Pinkie pie has balloons, not pie’s after all. I can imagine Trixie’s mom being like “eh, close enough” when hers first appeared.
