yeah, but you know as well as I do, the fans will not bring that up. Just like in Pokemon, Gi is god tier (I do love g1 and it has a place in my hear) But they will deem anything outside of g1 Pokemon as stupid trash.

Technically you don’t given how many people latch onto background ponies in this fandom and quite a lot of them don’t have personalities of their own.
 
Plus, these new characters were recently introduced. Pinkie Pie was very much ADHD incarnate when she was first introduced before other episodes started fleshing her out a bit more (and even then, there’s still some episodes where people find her insufferable but she still has quite a big fanbase).
