They have to sacrifice themselves to saved Equestria by using an ancient magic spell that have an side effect towards them.
Years pass, Equestria now lead by Princess Flurry heart. Until now, Starlight and her friend sunburts still searching a spell that can undo the side effect of their four beloved princesses.
God… now I wish Vad would draw something like that… a bad end to the movie with the princesses turned to stone permanentny in Storm King throne room… O_O
