Heard of those but i saw that more as her getting a second opinion and needing to rethink things than them inciting creative ideas or decisions.
 
Though she seemed to slip in a little but of head trauma if i remember right :P

Personally, I feel like the school was an obvious choice for a while now. Starting in season 4 - aka, post friendship letters graduation - the Mane 6 have slowly been moving towards a teaching position.
 
Season 4 had them get the keys which had them individually teach a pony their element. Season 5 had them solving friendship problems by teaching others the right morals. Season 6 had Twilight get her own student to really get into teaching and friendship problems continued. Season 7 had Starlight step up into her councelor role while putting her into a friendship problem role as well.
 
The school feels like the next step.

You’ve not heard of the insanity of S01 and how Hasbro pretty much saved the show, I take it…
 
For example, Faust wanted AJ to headbutt trees to get apples, with the result being her literally having brain trauma, explaining her character in Applebuck Season; Hasbro suggested she just kick the trees, and be a hard working character, so her antics were due to exhaustion rather than concussion.
 
Faust also wanted the Diamond Dogs to act like “urban youth”, ie. scary black teenagers. Hasbro opted to give them more unique personalities…
 
It’s bad to assume that just because someone can write coherent scripts and/or be a good storyteller that they have good ideas, or that because someone’s a corporate cog that they’re soulless automatons incapable of creative thought or reasoning.

That is surprising. Some bigwig in hasbro had an actually creative idea. Normally them corporate types lose all capacity for creative thinking, let alone logic
