In case if you’re wondering, why did I make this? If you haven’t seen the credits above, Stephen Hawking has recently passed away. Ironically, his death happened on Pi Day, which was on Albert Einstein’s 139th birthday…
The first time I heard about him was when I used to watch this show called The Big Bang Theory a couple of years back. I think it was that one episode in the show where he starred in. However, even though I had him in mind, I never really cared about him (and I regret it to this day) until now.
This morning, I was about to go on here to post some art when I saw this message under my Google homepage. I thought it wasn’t that big of a deal, until I saw this video on YouTube, where Philip DeFranco talked about Stephen Hawking’s death. The news made me realize that I had taken this man for granted, and since I have an MLP OC who studies physics and science (Julia), I decided to draw this in honor of him. (And I decided to change Julia’s magic color for this one.)
The song that this drawing was inspired by (One More Light) really described how I feel. I don’t dedicate this song only to Chester Bennington or Stephen Hawking, but also to everyone I’ve known and loved who have passed away. Sure, these people may not be with us anymore, but they’ll forever be in our hearts.
Since today is Pi Day, as well as Stephen Hawking’s death, I feel like this is the worst one for me this year, and I’ll admit that a lot of bad things have happened in 2018, such as the Logan Paul situation, and the Parkland high school shooting. And sometimes, I’m starting to feel like hating 2018, but… since a lot of interesting things have happened to me this year, I have a feeling that this year will be better than the last, regardless of the bad things that have happened this year.
My condolences go out to Stephen and all those who have been associated with him. It must have been really hard for them to go through this…
I hope you enjoy, and more art will be coming soon!
