I’m pretty sure he was offered “easy way” before Canterlot Wedding - but tru love and other such crap.  
Who cares about Crystal Empire - with wife like Chryssi he can have tens of them. Not to mention other advantages.

Seriously speaking, it’s such a shame sometimes they have to put these “morales” (like, true love always wins) for little girls into the show - same girls who mostly won’t care about these morales in just 10-15 years and will simply become prudent bitches and whores. They really should’ve put more realism into the cartoon. :)

It actually doesn’t. There are at least three other multi-parters in Skitter’s gallery whose last part’s description contains a “Next” without a link.
 
OTOH, Skitter replied to a comment in one of the previous parts, saying that bonus pages were a possibility, so there’s still hope.

How strong are Chrysalis’s mind control powers? She had Shining pretty deep by the end of Canterlot Wedding. Could she manage to weaken Cadance’s resolve so much with them that she’d accept that she’s a foal and Chrysalis is her mommy and pour that much more love into Chrysalis?

I could make this even creepier but I feel like I shouldn’t. (I wouldn’t start something like this, after all.)
 
But this means that Cadance is still alive and has to live with her daughter forced away from her.
 
Maybe she’s back at the hive taking care of the drones.
 
When they learn how to transform, Chrysalis teaches them to copy Flurry first, to keep her eternally despairing and confused.
