I think that game came out before DLC was even a common thing. (Especially, for Nintendo systems.)

I actually still remember people actually getting angry about earlier games charging for DLC, upgrades, and such originally. Heck, one guy told me wouldn’t get a Wii, because he didn’t like the fact the Virtual Console NES games weren’t free to download. (I can’t believe he thought they were going to be free.)

The Nintendo Switch’s update that added the ‘record clips’ function secretly added the ability to use the GameCube controller adapters that were released for the Wii U and Super Smash Bros. I have one, and I can play all the Switch games I have with GC controllers. So, people think that means something for potential GC VC. As well as Smash.

It had been said all NES and SNES games would be free to subscribers of the upcoming online service. Likely, first-party VC for other consoles will follow. Though, I had heard of that, mmmaybe, mid-‘17, lel.

Y’know, I’m still kinda bummed GameCube games never got a proper Eshop rerelease. I actually don’t own Super Mario Sunshine, so I haven’t had a chance to play it sense the GameCube was still out.

If they ever do bring them to Switch, (doubt it) they’d need to make new controllers for them to properly recreate the pressure sensitive analogue L & R shoulder buttons (which many GameCube titles require as different pressure can give them different controls, or more precise control) but modern controllers lack them.

Though, I think Nintendo’s phasing out Virtual Console personally, or doesn’t want to bother with those anymore so don’t count on it. Only reason Switch has “Arcade Archives” Eshop games is because a different company Hamster remade those games.

I actually kinda liked the corny story. Heck, it was the first non-RPG Mario game to actually have progressing cinematic scenes, and a plot-twist. Plus Shadow Mario was a surprisingly creepy villain at the time. Until you find out it’s actually Bowser Jr. This was his debut game.

Funny thing is, the game was going to have realistic human NPCs in it originally like in “Super Mario Odyssey.”

I dunno, I liked the FLUDD, and it worked fine for me.

For that matter, I liked “New SMB2” also, but it just didn’t do anything new with the series. It feels like they could’ve done more with the coin collecting gimmick/focus, but it’s not very essential to the game. The return of the flying raccoon ear/tail suit, (even improving it a bit) and some things about it were nice. Like Reznor’s return’

Pity this game for its poorly executed story but praise its controls and soundtrack.

Level doesn’t have flippers at the bottom, therefore it’s pachinko.

Actually, pachinko involves shooting many small balls repeatedly into a nearly vertical playfield, while pinball is about the manipulation of the small number of balls currently in play on a near-horizontal playfield. Flippers have nothing to do with it.
