But the spells on the gun would still be possible and let’s face it if scoots is getting a gun then the whole nation has been militarized and Equestria has been shown to have far abundant resources as the royal guard where at least gold plated armor draw gold plated carriage and Celestia wears gold. Any cost argument is invalid.
@Ghost of Zeon
well thats assuming there aren’t material components to those enchantments that could make them expensive, or that the spells required are trivial and don’t need skilled unicorns to cast them. either way would make mass production infeasible, thus such ammo would be reserved for more highly trained troops.
@Blissey1
Actually it just be labor cost. Enchant the weapons with rune casting to make the guns fire and the round to seek target. Ranch the ammo to debutante flatter impact above a set velocity. It’s be three spell runes two of witch only need application at the guns crafting and third is just explosion spell set to trigger and enchanted on a bullet. In fact it probably could be done by Celestia’s mid tier and above students. So any pony about Trixie’s level of spell craft just following directions. It would actually cut cost as then they can simplify the gun function and it have lower chance of miss fire and no smoke to blind the shooter or give away position and every shot hitting the targets would reduce how much ammo is used.
It’s amazing how efficient combing technology and magic can make war.
It just occurred to me they are Equestria infantry that means that unicorn mages could be in a factory some place rune etching and enchanting muskets, pistols, miniballs, and round shot, all day long. Meaning that they don’t need powder the shots could home in on targets and even explode on or in said target. The reason this dawned on me was cause neither of them have powder horns visible on their kits, and then I thought would they actually need them?
@Ghost of Zeon
if I remember right, there was a desperado during the days of the wild west that had 13 or so pistols on his corpse. So she could stand to have a few more.
