Whenever the show uses black as a hair colour, it’s usually a little closer to a lighter tone grey like in the manes of Quibble Pants, Octavia, and Daring Do.
I think the only times they use solid black were on villains, ie King Sombra, Nightmare Moon, Pony of Shadows.

Yep, the gradient gray black hair with highlights really helped the shape of the hair. Black always tends to look flat or oddly concave, but I’m glad that it translated well.

It seems you had to play around with the shading of the colours. To make the colours soft enough to bear.
You manage to make him into a character who’d fit right into the show. Not some sort of dark demonspawn alicorn zebra changeling thing.

Haha thank you, though I really do get why people don’t like it, red and black is impressively hard to work with, as I’ve come to find out. I hope the oc owner likes how it came out regardless.
