@Cirrus Light
That is true she’s the only one with straight eyelashes I hadn’t noticed it before, but as mention males don’t have them at all and this is just part of her tomboyish nature that probably does not care about the eyelashes aesthetics at all unlike someone like Rarity who has the most sophisticated ones of them all:
On a second thought it seems Starlight shares the same pattern?
@GrapefruitFace
To be fair, at times I’ve caught myself accidentally referring to her as “him”.
On that level, I can totally understand OP, lol.
Over the years I’ve stopped doing it, but when I first get to know him her, sometimes I slipped up and call her a “him”, wouldn’t surprise me at all if this was a common thing :p
(I didn’t actually do it last paragraph, that’s just an example of what I mean).
Rainbow Dash and Applejack can be identified as females by their eyelashes and round muzzle … yet a few official (low budget) dubs still made them males.
But they still played it straight with Trenderhoof, if I recall correctly, making him homosexual. Which is perfectly fine, but maybe nothing you’ll normally find in a kids show.
Speaking of gender bending. The backpack in Dora the Explorer is a female, because it’s la mochila, but the Swedish dub made her into a male along with the male pronouns. This works fine, until the parade episode where backpack was going to wear a skirt. Cross-dressing is perfectly fine, but maybe nothing you’ll normally find in a kids show.

Actually, Twilight herself calls her friends ‘girls’. I know you’re probably just making a joke, but still. They HAVE used the actual term ‘girl’ before. Same with the Crusaders.
