But here is the issue with your point: Nuclear tech is a science. A science that has killed many, yes, but has also saved many. Communism is a governmental system. A system that has saved almost no one. End nuclear tech and you damn lives,lose jobs, etc. End communism and you lose nothing.

Contrary to popular belief, the dissolution of the Soviet Union never solved the problem poverty (some people may argue that the brutal return to capitalism may have aggravated the problem but that’s another debate for another time) and most of Kommunalkas are still inhabited to this day, by force or by choice. (some people there actually like this way of life)
