Surprised by the actual rating?
 
The bad reviews are by insipid adults that made a living out of watching movies, no talent, no work, no effort.  
Movie critics are the parasites of the movie industry.

Rotten Tomatoes can suck it.
 
They hate on ponies but give Ghostbusters 2017 a better rating? No wonder people don’t trust these so called critics.

Have to say reading the comments of this just sounds like a bunch of people whining because people have different tastes then them and don’t love what they love.

Simple. They are movie critics and most of her work is in TV shows. They work in different forms of media so why should they keep track of every television VA when that isn’t what they review?

Personally I take Rotten Tomatoes with a very large grain of salt. Let’s not forget that while MLP is at 50%, elsewhere on the same site Ghostbusters 2016 is currently sitting at 74%.

The 1987 Movie did poorly mostly for being “tasteless” and “just a movie Length” episode
 
And then “To Where and Back Again 2” gets an 86% the first week…

If only that was real. At least it’s at an even 50% instead of below 40% or 35%.

Well that’s an interesting review. Yep, always someone rolling out the tired old weak shot of “it’s about selling toys” (as if: that’s not obvious for years/advertising in movies via product placement isn’t a common thing/duh) along with whatever else that is in there huh?

Reading though the “critics” reviews is kind of depressing.  
So many people go to see a movie about cartoon ponies and write ill informed reviews that basically boils down to them not liking the film.

Pony Princess Twilight Sparkle and several of her adorable pals set out to protect their land from the evil Storm King. The meandering plot is merely a framework to involve as many Hasbro toys as possible and separate little girls from their parents’ money. There are some catchy (if forgettable) songs to get toes tapping, but the animation looks like something doodled with colored pencils in an elementary school notebook. And considering that this cutesy-pie drivel couldn’t possibly interest anyone over the age of 7, letting it babble on for an hour and 39 minutes is sheer madness. Blame director Jayson Thiessen and writers Meghan McCarthy, Joe Ballarini, Rita Hsiao and Michael Vogel. Leading voices are mostly unknown, but Emily Blunt, Kristen Chenoweth, Zoe Saldana and others turn up in support. J.L.
