Ah, I’m fairly unlearned on the subject to be honest. I’m sure you have a wider knowledge than me, the only reason I know of the guy is his connection to the 20th ME, which one of my ancestors fought in (Ames started his infantry career as the regimental officer of the 20th until he was succeeded by Chamberlain after Chancellorsville).
I didn’t even know about that guy, and I call myself a Civil War buff!

I still don’t understand what Halleck’s issue with Grant was in particular. Is it as simple as being salty because Grant was a good field commander and he wasn’t? Whatever the reason, I consider it fortunate that Grant didn’t quit when he wanted to.
I was referring to Adelbert Ames of Maine, artillery officer turned infantry commander.
I’m not a fan of Halleck, he was such a colossal jerk to Grant. I was asking because I thought that the OC looked like Halleck.
Who was the guy you were referencing? I can’t tell by the ponified name.
No, it’s Saddlebert Ames! dont hurt me
Nah, it’s really just my OC in Union infantry garb, just for the sake of it. I might commission more, but I’m not sure what I’d do yet.
Gotta ask though, why Halleck? You a fan of Old Brains?

Ye
We Americans call it the Civil War most of the time but probably to other countries would be known as American Civil War.
Ah ok!
American Civil War but yes.
That was no battle, that was a butchery…

Exactly! It makes her proud knowing she has the blood of the brave in her veins.
Likes the feel of her ancestor’s will to fight huh?
The uniform belonged to her great great grandfather, she just likes to try it on sometimes. :P
